Motorcycle, cycling, triathlon and squash competition
Scott has ridden motorcycles since age nine and went on to compete across motocross, trials and enduro, reaching semi-professional level as a national championship contender. His trials involvement included Brisbane Motorcycle Trials Club.
Scott also competed in road-cycling events and triathlons. His cycling history includes the inaugural 160 km Portfolio Partners Brisbane-to-Noosa ride in 2008, the Brisbane-to-Gold-Coast Cycle Challenge and MS Queensland Brissie to the Bay rides.
Scott’s squash history includes junior squads, State League competition and senior A-grade level with a Brisbane team.
Diamond-industry experience
Scott entered the jewellery industry in 1996 and subsequently developed advanced capability in jewellery CAD design, CGI rendering and animation.
His software experience includes Rhino 3D, V-Ray, RhinoGold and Matrix for jewellery modelling, rendering and presentation.
Scott undertook rough-diamond buying and contract work in Namibia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and South Africa. His diamond-industry work also included time in Surat and Mumbai across rough-diamond purchasing, sales, distribution and supply, rough-purchasing contracts, diamond evaluation and market analysis.
Scott currently operates a Sarin diamond-evaluation system, manufactured in Israel, and has used it in his rough-diamond work. He used laser-assisted scanning and planning with market analysis to assess potential polished yield and commercial return.
Scott co-owned Dhanalakshmi Shri Diamonds Private Limited in India and served as a director from its incorporation in May 2013.
In Australia, Omnia Australia Pty. Ltd. traded as Omnia Diamonds. Scott served as a director and co-owner of the Omnia enterprise and later co-owned Brisbane Diamond Company.
Current facilities and operations management
Scott’s current work links facilities management closely with operations management within Queensland’s commercial property environment.
The operating context includes commercial office leasing, the management of office installations, architectural development and plant-hire operations. It brings property requirements, workplace delivery and practical operations into one coordinated management environment.
From Queensland warehouse management to national logistics
After selling the catering business, Scott joined Pizza Hut as Queensland Warehouse Manager. He later became Transport Services Manager in Sydney and progressed to National Logistics Manager.
Scott then moved to the Windows Division of Boral Aluminium Products as State Manager Logistics. During a consolidation period, he was promoted to National Logistics and Manufacturing Manager.
Catering, hospitality and early enterprise
Scott was self-employed in catering and hospitality from early in his career. He purchased his first takeaway shop in a busy industrial park at Underwood and built In Vogue Catering from that base. During the same period, Scott established Kym K Design, a hairdressing and beauty business.
In Vogue Catering managed food-service tenders and provided catering in government, civic and corporate settings, including work connected with the Office of the Lord Mayor of Brisbane during Sallyanne Atkinson’s term, Brisbane–Kobe sister-city events, Penfolds, Kaiser Stuhl Wines, Ray White head office, the Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ), Queensland Cement, Tip Top Bakeries and Air India while it operated from Brisbane. Scott also catered at political functions involving Joh Bjelke-Petersen, the National Party and the Liberal Party.
Early work and retail management
Scott grew up in Redcliffe, where his parents were self-employed in the marine industry. From a young age, he worked picking potatoes on a neighbouring farm.
Scott started at Coles as a trolley attendant and progressed through trainee management to Assistant Manager. He then became Store Manager at Butts SSW Supermarket in Maroochydore.
Registered trade marks and brand development
IP Australia search results list Scott as the owner or a joint owner of four registered and protected Australian trade marks: Drone Base (No. 1999440), the diamond portal (No. 2148148), capucinne jewellery (No. 2149362) and Divine Elements (No. 2149434). The diamond portal and capucinne jewellery records also name IDCP Australia Pty Ltd as an owner.
IDCP Australia Pty Ltd is one of Scott's companies. The United States Patent and Trademark Office records the company as the current owner of DIVINE ELEMENTS, live US registration No. 6816063, serial No. 90501900, on the Principal Register for jewellery in International Class 14. These records document Scott's experience developing and protecting commercial brands while preserving the legal distinction between personal and company ownership.
